Today is National Medal of Honor Day, a day to honor and remember the brave men and women who have received our nation's highest military award for valor in action against an enemy force. Since its inception during the Civil War, over 3,500 Medal of Honor recipients have been awarded to members of the Armed Forces who have distinguished themselves

conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States.
These heroes represent the best of our nation and its values, demonstrating extraordinary acts of bravery and courage in the face of extreme danger and adversity, putting their own lives on the line to protect our freedoms and defend our way of life.
On this National Medal of Honor Day, let us remember and honor those who have earned this prestigious award, and let us continue to support and honor our military heroes who selflessly serve our country every day.
As we approach the 248th Marine Corps Birthday celebration, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by all those who have served our country, particularly those who have given their full devotion. This year's celebration at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards on October 28th will be especially poignant as our Guest of Honor will be Major General James Livingston, our nation's highest-ranking recipient of the Medal of Honor.
The Wine Country Marines' Ball is always an opportunity to honor our brave men and women in service, but this year, we will pay special tribute to those who have received the Medal of Honor. We invite you to join us in honoring and remembering our Medal of Honor recipients and those who have given their full devotion to our country by attending this special event. Let us come together as a community to express our gratitude and appreciation for these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and our way of life.
